Reviving The Church From The Home

Father, we are grateful to come before you as we open your Word and the Spirit of Prophecy.

And we pray that you may be our teacher, that we all may learn what you want us to learn this afternoon.

May we learn how to revive the church through our homes.

Lord, may you convict us and change us, that you may change the errors of our lives.

We know that it's hindering your love from flowing in your church and in our homes.

Okay the presentation this afternoon is entitled Reviving the Church Through the Home and what I'm going to be doing is I'm going to take 1 principle.

So the first section is dating, the second section is marriage, and the last section is parenting.

And what I'm going to do is I'm going to start off with dating, take a principle where how the current culture of the world is run and how that Seventh-day Adventist is actually doing that same culture of dating inside of the church and how that current culture of dating in the church is actually killing the church.

So I hope you're all in the right place because that's what we're going to be focused on.

Hopefully we're going to revive the church through the home.

The second part we're going to be focusing on marriage, right, and the principles.

I'm just picking 2 from each section just so you can get a little picture of what really goes on.

And then marriage, what's happening in the culture of the world is contrary to the word of God.

And in a sense, a marriage means that the parents in a home, there's actually parents in the church called church leaders, yeah, church board members, and how their bad marriage skills is entering into the church and hurting the church.

Same thing with parenting, bad parenting skills in the home is going into the church and it's hurting the church.

And so I'm going to share with you my experiences.

I've been pastoring 13 years in the Hawaii Conference, and just my experience is what I'm seeing, there's a correlation.

You cannot separate the home from the church.

See people are trying to separate it, that you can separate the home and the church, but you cannot.

And you're going to see that clearly, you cannot separate the 2 because what happens in the home will always affect the church.

I'm going to share that with you as we go through the Word of God.

So I invite you to turn in your Bibles to Ephesians chapter 3 verse 14 and 15.

If anyone has a Bible, Ephesians chapter 3 verse 14 to 15 is the opening text.

And there's actually a quotation from the Spirit of Prophecy.

Now, I'm going to bring this out more tomorrow on dating.

They asked me to do 1 on dating in the afternoon in a tent.

And then I'm gonna bring this out more on dating.

And it says here, Satan is busily engaged in influencing those who are wholly unsuited to each other to unite their what?

He's the greatest master maker out there, right?

So he's got there and what he's doing is that he's trying to unite people who are not meant to be together.

And it goes on and it says here, he exalts in this work and it says, for by it, in other words, ruining marriages and ruining homes, for by it he can produce more misery and hopeless woe to the human family than by exercising his skill in any other direction.

In other words, what Satan is doing is he wants to attack the home.

And I, while I was using the ministry, I came to the final conclusion, I was trying to figure out what is the problem with the church and I tried everything, I tried evangelistic meetings, I've done tent meetings, we've done 7 tent meetings I mean we've done so many evangelistic work, Bible workers, I had like 40 different Bible workers and just full time workers and tried everything, working to save the church or revive the church through the church.

And you know what came to the final conclusion?

The only way you can revive the church, you've got to revive the home first.

And so revive the home and then that will revive the church.

And so you want to revive, how many of you want to revive a reformation in your churches?

I mean are your churches perfect out there that you go to a church in a while this is that this is not what I thought 1 of 1 to 10 is a 10 and the field I would feel like our churches need a revival today?

And so everywhere I go I see that our churches need a revival and it begins in the home.

So Satan sees this and so he's destroying the home.

For by destroying the home he would have destroyed the church.

And you look around today, and Satan has almost succeeded, true?

I mean, we go, I hear it all the time, people going to church, and they don't wanna even go to church anymore.

I don't know how you feel, but stay on God's ship.

And God will correct the ship if anything goes wrong.

So may God help us to see the connection here and make the changes.

Ephesians chapter 3 verse 14 and 15 in your Bible.

The Bible says, for this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ of whom the whole, what is that word?

Earth is named So according to the Bible there is a family and where is this family located?

There is actually a church family which is the same family.

So when God looks at heaven, he sees the church family, he sees the family in heaven.

But when he looks at the church, he sees that we're not just an institution.

We are called by the Bible to be a church family.

I'm trying to give a little foundation here to lead us to where we're going to be going.

Okay now let's turn to another text here that's found in 1 Timothy chapter 5 verse 1 and 2.

How are we to treat each other in the church?

The Bible says, rebuke not an elder, but treat him as a Father.
