In our study of the sanctuary, we're learning that the outer court and the holy place teaches how to have a relationship with God.

The most holy place, however, opens the door to something different.

The most holy place is situated in the framework of end time prophecy and it establishes a relationship with our God.

The most holy place will reveal to us the final crisis that earth will enter into.

We have studied the law, we've studied the law, the Ark of the Covenant, and the Ark of the Covenant inside the Most Holy Place actually contains God's law.

The law was strategically placed under the lid, under the mercy seat, and we learned that the mercy seat represented the throne of God.

And so the message was clear, the law is the foundation of God's government.

No government will survive without a law.

The 10 Commandments were so important, we discussed, that Moses stepped aside and God himself wrote them with his own finger on the permanence of stone.

We discussed writing a famous person, a president, so to speak.

And it would be exciting, I remember as an elementary student, we wrote the president and we got a typed letter back and I was so, we were so excited, but I doubt he typed it.

But if we would have gotten a handwritten note from President, I won't say which 1 was in office when I was in elementary school, but if we got a handwritten note from the President, I bet that would still be on the wall of that school or in the wall of my home.

Friends, we have a handwritten letter from our Creator God.

We saw that the 10 Commandments are actually a transcript of God's character.

And now we will study that there are those who have tried to alter the 10 Commandments.

Part of that's going to be later on in our series.

We're going to look at the attack and how it plays out in prophecy.

But today we're going to look at the law that is most under attack to be changed, and that is law number 4, which is the Sabbath.

This talk is also entitled, The Repairers of the Breach, looking to Isaiah 58 where God speaks of a generation that would arise to repair a breach, a breach that would occur in God's law.

Somehow most of the Christian world has forgotten about the Sabbath.

So today we're going to dive into this forgotten commandment, this attacked commandment, the Sabbath.

Number 1, did God make the Sabbath rest only for the Israelites?

How many of you heard that the Sabbath was made for Jews?

And he said to them, the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath.

If you all would pull out your Strong's Concordances right now, most of you don't have those with you I doubt, you want to understand the Greek word here.

This Mark could have said easily here, it was made for Israelites, couldn't he?

But no, my friends, the Sabbath was made for humanity.

That's the message from the Bible, not from me.

Number 2, when did God establish the Sabbath?

Genesis, we're gonna go very, you can hardly open your Bibles because you barely open it.

Thus the heavens and the earth and all the host of them were finished, then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made." Significantly, the Sabbath comes into play long before sin entered our world.

Also, a thousand years before the Hebrews came into the scene, the Sabbath was given.

There is a story of a Sabbath-keeping Christian studying with a co-worker's husband who this husband happened to be a local pastor and we're gonna call him Jerry.

Both men loved Jesus and enjoyed studying the Bible.

They enjoyed learning together and both praised God for the gift of Jesus.

1 day they were studying the Sabbath and Jerry said that the Sabbath was for the Jews, like most of us have heard before.

The question was quickly asked, did Adam and Eve keep the Sabbath?

He thought for a minute and said, yeah, I think so.

So if Adam and Eve are the mother and father of our race, doesn't that make us Jews?

It does bring up a question, where do Jews come from?

You may recall that there were 12 tribes.

And if you were of a tribe, let's say Benjamin, you were called a?

If you were of the tribe of Levi, you were a?

But if you were a tribe of Judah, you were a?

When the nations split, 10 went north, 2 went south, Judah and Benjamin remained.

After the apostasy that occurred, when the 10 nations were taken away, only 2 remained and that was Judah and Benjamin.

Benjamin was microscopic at this point compared to Judah, and over time Judah basically absorbed Benjamin so it was only Judah or the Jews.

So you are saying, pastor, is that Abraham was not a Jew, technically.

Abraham was from the city of Ur in the land of the Chaldeans, so that made Abraham a Chaldean or a Babylonian.

The Sabbath was given to humanity long before a people known as the Jews.

But the Sabbath was given to God's people, not to the Jews.

Genesis 2, 2 and 3, And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had done and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.

Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in it his — he rested from all his work which God had created and made." Who rested on the seventh day?

So you can go as far back as you want in history, the seventh day is Saturday, Or what we call today, what we're worshiping on today, Sabbath.

Our calendar day names actually, most of you probably know this, originate from paganism.

The days are actually called after various Roman gods, or various gods Romans worshipped.

That's where we get Thor's day or Thursday.

Romans also worshipped celestial bodies, So they have Saturn Day, then you have Sun Day, Moon Day.

You can see that the names of the week today in the West originated from paganism.

The Hebrews, however, had a different weekly cycle, and I wish we still kept this 1.

It was the first day, the second day, the third day, the fourth day, the fifth day, and then you get to Friday, and what was it?
