Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, as we discuss this message of the sanctuary, prepare our hearts, Father.

Come into our lives and help us to see You in the process of judgment, not as an evil dictator but of a God of love, a God of desire to separate the sin from the sinner, a God that is sad when we choose not to.

Give us all strength to allow God to do his work in us.

So we're continuing our journey in the most holy place.

Once we entered the most holy place, we have been studying that God's law in our last presentation.

The 1 that God said to remember is the 1 that the world has forgotten, right?

There were 7 festivals connected to the sanctuary.

Once again, we are seeing the number 7 in the sanctuary, right?

The first 4 of the 7 are the spring festivals.

It starts with Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits, and the feast of weeks.

The feasts actually form a prophetic timeline for us.

You will see that the sanctuary was to help Israel understand and us to understand God's plan to save humanity.

They represent important way marks in God's plan.

The first was Passover, was celebrated on the 14th day of Nisan.

And it commemorates, I'm gonna say that partially correctly I guess, the deliverance of the nation of Israel from Egypt.

Do you remember the story where the 10 plagues were brought on And God was about ready to lead Israel, he was asking Egypt to let Israel go.

The last plague was the death angel over the land of Egypt.

All the firstborn, even the animals, would die unless they came into a house where the doorpost had been marked with what?

Thus the home that was marked would be safe.

Now we know what the blood represented, right?

It's a reflection of the Lamb of God again that came to take away the sins of the world.

Later, on the 15th day of that same month, which was the day that followed Passover, was the Feast of unleavened bread.

It is actually a ceremonial Sabbath, and they were to do no work on that day.

The Israelites would also ensure there was no leaven in their homes.

During the week in which the festival was celebrated, parents of the Hebrew children would give their children a candle and would hide leaven throughout the house and have them search for the leaven.

The kids would find it, it would be an exciting thing.

You use the light, you use the light to find the leaven.

So you'd go through the house with light, the Bible, and you would search for the sin in your house.

It was an important biblical lesson for the children.

The Word of God, thy word is a lamp unto my feet.

So, in life, we are called to do much the same.

This festival was to be celebrated on the day following the Sabbath of the week of Passover.

The celebration of this feast was actually 1 of the first feasts regarding the harvest.

The 3 are the ones where all the males had to be present in Jerusalem.

The first of the 3 was the first fruits, then it was the feast of weeks, and then the feast of tabernacles.

The feast of first fruits was the first harvest in the cycle of harvest in Israel, which they're an agricultural society, and that first harvest was barley.

And so they would, when barley first started ripening and they could pick some, they would pick that and that would be the first fruit.

They would give it as a wave offering before God, a thank offering for the harvest that was about to come.

In many ways, this was a harvest of faith because they were having faith in giving the first, they had a faith that much more was coming.

Then, of course, there was the Feast of Weeks that would follow 50 days later.

And that was the wheat harvest or the grain harvest.

What does this teach us about the plan of salvation?

Then we get to, which is the Passover, the 14th day of Nisan, on which Jesus died.

On Passover, the Passover lamb in the temple was to die at, does anybody know what time the temple, they called the lamb to die?

And a Jewish historian, Josephus, tells us that Jesus died at 03:00.

That's what the Jews actually have studied out and believe.

The priest was to take the life of the lamb, and Suddenly, if you remember, what happened in the temple when Jesus died?

Remember the Bible says it was from top to bottom.

The priests turned in horror as they saw what happened and in confusion.

It's believed that the lamb also ran away and was never sacrificed.

So Jesus actually dies the very hour that the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed in the temple.

You remember that night in the upper room they had met to celebrate Passover.

The next day was the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a ceremonial Sabbath like we talked about.

What did sinless Jesus do in the tomb on that day?

By the way, anyway, I mean, then he rests in the tomb the following day, right?

Then on the third day, the first fruits, Jesus rises from the dead, and Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15, 23 through 28, that Jesus is the first fruit of those who sleep in the grave who will later be resurrected.

Then 50 days after Passover, what happens?

The Holy Spirit fell upon Pentecost, right?

In early harvest, what is fantastic about these is the prophecies go in much greater depth.

You could spend probably 10 sermons on these alone.

And it would blow our mind with how accurate a lot of the prophecies were.
