Story Time: Singer on the Sand

<p>Last week Marta was found and there was a meeting planned. This week, the chief has a meeting with the teachers of Islam. What plans are going to be made about the big teacher and what are they going to do to Satoo?</p>

Hi, boys and girls, welcome back. A lot's going on in our story, so let's just jump right back in. It's been about four months since the teachers of Islam have come to the island, and while part of TA's plan has worked that more people are following the teachers of Islam, it hasn't worked entirely. Remember, the plan was to get the big teacher to leave, but instead of leaving, he's kinder and more loving than ever. And even though only a few people come to his meetings at night, he still has his meetings every night and they still sing and read the word of God. Remember how sad too told Hans there would be a meeting with the important men of the village? Well, that's happening and they're waiting for him to show up. Even though it's night, the village is a light with the flame from the volcano. They're very worried. So worried that Chief Meridan asked the villagers if they could move the village to the other side of the island, but the villagers don't want to because their gardens are all growing and they don't wanna lose their produce. Pretty soon Sat shows up because he's been invited to this meeting. Guru Moola tells him that he's old enough that he needs to stop following the big teacher's ways and follow their teachings instead. Not only that, he tells him that they're going to give him a new name and have a name feast for them. Though he disagrees with them, SATU is still respectful and kind. And Tama notices this change in him, even though he's supposed to be the next chief and could be arrogant. He's choosing to be kind and respectful even while saying no to the things they're asking of him. In fact, he says that if to follow God is to deny the teachings of Islam, then he defies their teachings respectfully and kindly. He tells them that it's time for him to go, that he has to go to the singing at the big teacher's house. Chief Meriden is very distressed and upset, and Guru Mola tells him that he clearly is not fit to be the next leader that Mamie to appease the volcano and to take care of this issue. They can take him and leave him at the foot of the volcano. Chief me, Danielles. No, I won't do that to my son. Tama even says, I don't agree with this. Guru Mola says that maybe Tama has been influenced by the big teacher. This made Tama very angry and he's quiet now. Guru Moola lays out his plan to Chief Merrian. They will leave him at the foot of the volcano to try to make it sound less bad. He says, we're not sacrificing him to the volcano. We'll just leave him there to teach him a lesson. Once he understands that only we can save him, then he'll stop following the big teacher and follow us. Instead, chief Merrian tells him that he will not go and he will not be the one to leave him there. So Guru Moola says he Angola will take him. Instead, Tama leaves the meeting feeling angry and upset. He's angry at Guru Moola for this evil plan. He's angry that Chief Meriden doesn't stand up to him. He's even angry at SAT for choosing to follow the big teacher instead. That night he does not sleep well, but he has a dream and in that dream light comes into his hut and into everything he does, and he feels the same joy and peace that he's seen in Hans, the big teacher Marta, and sat in his dream. He also sees Marta in a boat reaching out to someone. He goes to her and then he woke up when he wakes up. He feels like something about the big teacher's family and Marta and Hans is important. So he goes in search of them. When he gets to the beach, he sees Hans and Marta playing and he asks, Hans, have you seen sat today? Hans smiles and turns and says, yes, I did see him. He went fishing with guru Moola Angola. It's okay though. He'll be back tonight for the singing. He never misses it. Come back next week to find out what will happen to Sat.
