Description
This presentation will focus on how thyroid disease affects the eyes. It will cover how to diagnose and assess patients with Thyroid Eye Disease and what signs and symptoms patients may have as well as how to treat and manage these patients. Emphasis will also focus on new treatment modalities. In addition, an update will be given on the state of global blindness and the efforts that Loma Linda University is making to address these issues, particularly in the countries of Fiji and Sierra Leone.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Provide an overview of diagnosis and assessment of patients with Thyroid Eye Disease
2. Discuss updates to the treatment of Thyroid Eye disease
3. Discuss state of Global Blindness and share the efforts of Loma Linda University to address blindness in Fiji and Sierra Leone
